May God be praised!

I am so very thankful for so many blessings. I appreciate the fact that the worst of the winter storm passed North of us Saturday night / Sunday morning. On my way to church the roads were wet and slick, but snow and ice free. I still didn't get to Church as early as I should have. It is my plan now to leave home by 8:30 Sunday mornings, even earlier if the weather isn't great, even when I have to work Saturday's until Midnight as I did again this week (and am expecting to all this month).
  There is growing animosity at work. After a month of being harped on about how important the inventory was, even to threatening some people's jobs.
    Yesterday the pastor preached on Jeremiah 35 verses 18 and 19, title and synopsis was 'good practice brings good results'. Which is very fitting for the first sermon on 2024. If we keep doing the right thing bucause it is the right thing to do ( it glorifies God, and demonstrates our postion as hearers and do-ers of His ordinances) the result can only be good, for His Kindom here on Earth and for us and our familes.  
   Sometimes I find it tough to do 'the right thing' at all times because I see a easier/cheaper/quicker or someting with an immediate reward. All of these are selfish excuses I know, but there is come credit I take in acknowledging these things for what they are. Like in a 12 step program :  Ther first step is admiting there is a problem. Thankfully we have God's Word to let us know His way, the way that is best for us, even if it seems that it may not be the easiest/cheapest/quickest or that with the most immediate reward.

NJ Transit Fare Holiday Adventure

When Governor Murphy announced the Fare Holiday week, which included Labor Day weekend, I knew I had to take advantage of this!  The question became when and where? It is the end of summer, so my thoughts were of ‘Summer things’ (at least in my mind). The Jersey Shore? Most certainly! But which beach? I took the Atlantic City Line train to Atlantic City on Memorial Day, which was already checked off for the summer of 2024. Maybe this was the excuse I needed to get on New Jersey Transit’s longest bus line: The 317 which runs from Philadelphia to Asbury Park and passes right in front of my home in Mt. Holly?   After checking maps and weather, the plan began to come together: First Stop: Point Pleasant Beach. What comes after that, I don’t know. After spending two-plus hours on a bus, maybe I won’t want to do this much more.   2004 NEW HAMPSHIRE TRIP “You can’t take your vacation between Father’s Day and Thanksgiving,” the boss told me one day in February, “and the sooner you pick your days, the less of a chance someone else will take the days you want.” “Okay, I’ll pick them up soon,” was my reply. Had no idea about taking some time off. Had lots of travel dreams but no plans, no passport, and not a whole lot of money. The Lord heard the prayer of my heart, event if it wasn’t the one of my lips. That Sunday in church, Major Navarro made an announcement. “This year we are going to be hosting a special campaign during Holy week, the Territorial Evangelists will be visiting us and will be running special services each day from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday.
