I had finally gotten back to the second shift at work. What was originally said was 2 weeks ended up being three, but hopefully now it is over. I've learned some in this training episode, but I don't think I know enough to train my colleagues, which was the whole point of this exercise.
I also feel that I have disappointed the senior persons who appointed me to this task, maybe I went from hero to zero in 3 weeks? Only Time Will tell.
Had been spending these mornings with I could theoretically sleep in, at the church. We are doing our first food pantry since the pandemic. I'm am glad that I now have the mornings to do such things again. So Sunday we were told the food delivery from the food bank was coming on Monday so I went to the church at 9:00 a.m. on Monday where we learned that it was coming on tuesday. Then Tuesday we were told from 9:00 to noon and I was getting ready to leave my house about 8:15 and the pastor called and said they are there! It takes 30 minutes on a Sunday morning to get from my home to the church, and during a weekday rush hour it takes a little longer. I got there just about 9:00 and they were starting to bring in the food already, thanks the Lord that they were patient and waited for us. Four pallets of food is a lot of food! We must have gotten 250 cases of macaroni and cheese! My hope, and the hope of others, is that this can be a blessing to many in the neighborhood.
At the end of 2023 I had more than 100 hours of paid time off unused, I am not going to let that happen again! I had taken off on February 1st so I could go to the chosen premiere in the movie theater, my great friends Jerry and Trish had bought me a ticket. The first three episodes that were debuted that day for season 4 were very powerful and emotional, but we were told to expect this. I am not going to jump up and down and say everybody must watch this, but I encourage people to check it out. If anybody is looking for suggestion for a series to binge watch I recommend the chosen, but you have to commit to the first four episodes before you make a decision about whether you want to continue. At least to me it took that many episodes before I was able to make heads or tails of it. In the first two episodes Jesus only speaks a handful of lines!
